Bacteria discovery forces closure of Bridgeport Infant School
The discovery of a bacterial infection has forced the Ministry of Education to close the Bridgeport Infant School in Portmore.
The education ministry says the infection was discovered by the St Catherine Health Department last Friday.
As a result, it says the school will be close tomorrow to allow for sanitary activities to take place.
The education ministry says it will issue bulletins to update the public on developments at the school and the reopening date.
In the meantime, it is urging parents to keep their children at home and not send them to nurseries and day care centres.
