Updated: Woman struck by lightning falls into gully and dies

A St Thomas woman was on the weekend killed after being struck by lightning.

The 18-year-old identified by a family member as Sajaka Walker of Hagley’s Gap district in Cedar Valley, St Thomas was found dead in her community on Saturday.

It's reported that Walker was on her way home from a wake about 6:30 a.m. when she became stranded due to heavy rains.

They say it is alleged that she was standing under a tree when it was struck by lightning.

Walker reportedly received burn wounds to her body and fell into a gully.

Her body was later discovered by residents, who called the Police.

Note: The 18-year-old woman who was killed on the weekend was identified as Sajakay Brown by the police, however, she has since been identified as Sajaka Walker by a family member.
