The National Works Agency (NWA) says it expects to complete resurfacing work on a section of Mandela Highway leading into Kingston by the end of the week.

It was one of 50 roadways in Kingston, St Andrew, St Thomas and St Catherine that were impacted by the heavy rains on the weekend.

However, communications manager at the NWA Stephen Shaw says the agency is giving priority attention to Mandela Highway where a section of the eastbound land near Ferry was damaged.

He says the NWA is also paying close attention to the roadway from Papine to Hardware Gap in St Andrew where the heavy rains caused landslides.

However, the NWA communications manager says all the road ways have been reopened.
