Priority attention for mosquito nuisance - Ferguson
Health Minister Dr Fenton Ferguson has indicated that the government is giving urgent attention to a more sustained approach to dealing with the mosquito nuisance.
The assurance came after Ferguson met with Local Government Minister Noel Arscott and State Minister for Works Richard Azan last Friday to discuss an inter-ministerial approach to eradicating mosquito breeding sites.
Another meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday after which technical teams from all three government ministries will meet to agree on the approach to be taken.
In the meantime, Ferguson says additional resources are being put in place to help eradicate the mosquito nuisance across the island.
These include more funding for the vector control programme as well as new fogging machines and chemicals.
