PNP distances itself from Friends of Portland and Friends of East Portland
The People’s National Party (PNP) secretariat is distancing itself from a group calling itself ‘Friends of Portland’ and ‘Friends of East Portland’.
This week the group released two statements unfavourable to health minister Dr Fenton Ferguson and east Portland Member of Parliament Dr Lyndale Bloomfield.

The PNP secretariat says it notes the attacks on the two and that the established channels of the Party remain open to legitimate organisations with a need to be affiliated to the PNP.
However, it says before last week it had no knowledge of what it has described as the illusory group.
It says it believes those behind the group are running their own individual campaign.
The PNP says the group of individuals cannot be described as having any sort of affiliation with the party.
