A business place operated by a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) councillor in Osborne Store, Clarendon was robbed of cash and a motor vehicle last night.

Reports are that patrons were at a bar operated by JLP councillor for the Mocho Division, Fay Simpson, when an armed robber invaded and held them at gun point about 8:45 p.m.

The robber reportedly demanded cash and the bartender as well as patrons complied. He also demanded the keys to a 2013 Toyota Rav4 belonging to the councillor that was parked outside.

He then exited the bar and was met by two other men who then escaped in the councillor's vehicle, along with the cash which has been estimated at J$300,000.

No one was reported injured. Simpson, who said it was not the first robbery at the location, said the matter was reported to the police who have since commenced an investigation into the incident.
