One-hundred-and-six residents of Santa Cruz and adjoining communities in St Elizabeth have received land titles under the government’s Land Administration and Management Programme (LAMP).

The presentations were made by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller during a ceremony held at St Matthews Anglican Church Hall in the parish.

Simpson Miller says providing land for landless Jamaicans and making it easier for them to acquire registered titles are major priorities for her government.

She says her administration will not be distracted from fulfilling that priority, as she sought to underscore the importance of land ownership to all Jamaicans.

Simpson Miller says she is also pleased that almost 50 of the over 100 recipients benefited from a Development Bank of Jamaica grant facility that enabled them to acquire their titles.
