The National Solid Waste Management Agency (NSWMA) is now officially seeking a permanent executive director, eight months after the post became vacant.
An advertisement was carried in yesterday's Sunday Gleaner.
Among other things, it said applicants must have a postgraduate degree in engineering and at least 10 years' experience in a senior management position.
The post became vacant in March, after the then board decided against renewing Jennifer Edwards' contract.
That decision came amid criticisms levelled at the agency in the wake of a fire at the Riverton Landfill in St Andrew that burned for weeks causing health and economic fallout.
Colonel Daniel Pryce has been serving as the NSWMA's interim executive director.
