St Ann police intensify search for missing family
The St Ann police have intensified the search for four members of a family who have been reported missing after a fire gutted their house in Lime Hall in the parish.
The two-storey house was seen ablaze on Saturday and was gutted before the fire brigade arrived.
The police say the fire may be a case of arson.
The police say the four family members have not been seen since the fire.
They have been identified as 57-year-old Joseph Lynch, 43-year-old Lascelle Lynch, 50-year-old Ruth Lawrence and seven-year-old Rimeka Haynes.
Head of the St Ann Police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, says the burnt-out house was searched but no remains were found inside the premises.
Superintendent Cameron says the police will now be searching the 60-acre property for clues.
He says the team is looking for things like caves or holes where it would be possible to hide bodies.
However, Superintendent Cameron stresses that the police are still treating the matter as a missing persons case.
He is appealing to persons who may have information to come forward.
