Kimberly Minott praising God

RUNAWAY BAY, St Ann:
Growing up in an Adventist home and adapting to its practices was an easy task for 17-year-old Kimberly Minott, who recently surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
Minott, who declared that baptism, had been on her mind for the longest time, pointed out that her decision to get baptised in another parish was well timed as the special moment was witnessed by the very people who have assisted her growth and development in adopting a Christian lifestyle.
"I am feeling so light," Minott said, after emerging from the water following her baptism.
"It's so ironic that I have got baptised in St Ann, the parish of my birth. I left St Ann to live in Portland at age two years, where I also attended high school. This world has nothing to offer but doom and gloom, and I am determined to make it to Heaven, where peace, joy, and love will be eternal. The Lord has done a lot for me and, for that reason, I will try to be faithful to Him," she added.
Minott, who now attends Mount Edgecomb Seventh-day Adventist Church in Runaway Bay, St Ann, also heaped praises on family members and her church family for supporting her in making, arguably, the most important decision of her life. She is also hoping that through prayer and continued support, she will overcome her weaknesses and remain faithful and true.
The decision was a joyful one for her lifelong friend, Shieann Georgianne, who got baptised in Port Antonio, Portland, some five years ago.
"This is really a dream come true," said Georgianne. "Kimberly and I are like sisters and we do just about everything together. It is a special moment for me and, although I am younger by three years, I am still her big sister in Christ. Both of us can now be a part of the Adventist youth department's activities - something that we will enjoy immensely," she added.
