Public can now apply for TRN and Tax Compliance Certificates online

Persons can now apply for Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) and Tax Compliance Certificates online as the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has implemented phase two of its new Revenue Administration information System (RAiS)

The TAJ further says the system allows taxpayers to do more business related transactions online and access other services.

It says persons can view their filing and payment history; requesting a refund and tracking its status; apply for income tax exemptions; generate statement of accounts, verify tax withholding or zero-rating entities, among other things.

The TAJ says the RAiS web platform is aimed at allowing taxpayers to conduct more transactions with greater security, ease and convenience.

It says approximately 25,000 persons have registered to use the online system.

The agency is encouraging more persons to sign up and take advantage of the improved services.
