The Appeal Court has ruled that St Catherine taxi operator Gary Hemans is entitled to aggravated damages based on the treatment meted out to him by a group of policemen on May 16, 2007.
However, the court has agreed with lawyers representing the Attorney General that the $1.2 million award was exorbitant and cut it to $600,000.
