Westmoreland pastor suspected of lottery scamming arrested

Detectives attached to the Westmoreland Proactive Investigation Unit arrested a pastor for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction) (Special Provision) Act on Cooke Street in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland today.

Reports are that on January 27 an operation was carried out at the pastor’s home on Cooke Street. 

A search of a room he occupied yielded over 50 sheets of paper populated with identity information of persons living overseas.

Following further investigations, the pastor was this morning arrested for his suspected involvement into the illicit lottery scamming.

He will be interviewed in the presence of his lawyer following which; formal charges will be proffered against him.

Investigations continue.
