Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller has expressed outrage and sadness at the shooting of police corporal Judith Williams, 54.
The cop who was attached to the Office of the Police Commissioner was shot six times in East Kingston yesterday while on her way to work.
Early this morning, she succumbed to the injuries in hospital.
In a statement, Simpson Miller said the police must be resolute in their efforts to find the criminals who attacked the cop.
"The worsening murder situation in the country is alarming and requires decisive action and the full cooperation of all Jamaicans," she also said.
