Tourism Ministry calls emergency meeting over Royalton building collapse

The Ministry of Tourism has called an emergency today with key people connected to the Royalton Negril Resort and Spa.

The tourism ministry says the meeting will discuss the implications of yesterday’s building collapse at the worksite.

It says the talks will involve members of the ministry team who visited the disaster site, the owners of the hotel, the main contractor and the sub-contractor.

It says Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett, who is overseas on government business, will be briefed on the outcome of the discussions.
