WESTERN BUREAU:
Authorities at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, St James are now searching for the source of noxious fumes affecting the first, second and third floors of the ten-floor medical institution.
Hospital administrators were not immediately available to comment but a source at the facility said the fumes, were detected earlier this afternoon.
Activities have been halted on the affected floors which have also been evacuated.
"Things appear to be normal on the other seven floors," the source said.
The affected areas include the usually busy Accident & Emergency department, the main administrative block and the clinical area.
