Man charged with molesting five-year-old remanded

A St Catherine man charged with sexually molesting a five-year-old girl was remanded when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court today.

It's alleged that the five-year-old is the man's relative.

It's further reported that his brother threatened persons who attempted to report the matter to the police.

Eventually, the Child Development Agency and the police were alerted and carried out a probe into the matter.

Both men were later arrested.

The alleged molester is to return to court this Friday.

Meanwhile his brother, who was charged with threatening a crown witness, was granted bail in the sum of $150,000.

As a condition of his bail, he has to relocate to another address in St Catherine.

He was  also warned to keep away from the victim and witnesses in the case.
