Teen held with gun remanded

The 15-year-old St Thomas High School student who was last week charged with illegal possession of firearm was remanded when he appeared in the St Thomas parish court today.
The teen is to appear in the Yallahs Children Court on Monday.
The St Thomas police say they were carrying out a stop and search operation along the Prospect main road last Thursday when they searched a bus in which the teen was travelling.
The police say they found a homemade firearm in the teen's schoolbag.
The St Thomas police also say they will be conducting more stop and search operations and other activities across the parish in the coming weeks.
They are appealing to residents to cooperate.
