The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that several roadways in St Thomas and Portland are being impacted by the heavy rains.

In St Thomas, the NWA says the roadways in Hordley Crossing, Albion and Poor Mans Corner are impassable because they have been inundated.

The police are advising motorist to use the alternate routes through Norris, Woodburn and Heart Ease.

Over in Portland, the NWA says sections of the roadways in Williamsfield, Maryton and Flat Grass are covered by silt, reducing them to single-lane traffic.

Communications Manager at the NWA Stephen Shaw says its crews are out working to clear affected roadways.
