Reid urges caution as schools reopen

Education Minister Ruel Reid says all schools not affected by the past weekend’s adverse weather should reopen today.

He says reports from Regional Education Officers indicate that most schools were not affected by the heavy rains.

Reid says institutions which had been initially used as shelters in Clarendon and St Thomas have since been closed and the persons moved elsewhere.

The Education Minister is urging all education stakeholders across the island to exercise caution.

He says parents, students and school administrators to be guided by advisories from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) in determining their movement.
