Minister without portfolio with Responsibility for Water, Dr Horace Chang, says he will be investigating claims of contaminated piped water in homes in sections of St Ann.

A resident of the Roaring River community claimed that this has been an ongoing problem for at least 20 years.

She raised the matter last evening at Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ town hall meeting in Ocho Rios in the parish.

She claimed that over the years residents have submitted samples of the alleged contaminated water to several agencies, but nothing has been done to address the problem.

According to her, the piped water in the community is discoloured and has been found to have water-borne pests.

Responding to the claims, Chang said he would look into the matter.
