Two killed, others hospitalised in Discovery Bay crash

Two people were last night killed and two others injured following a motor vehicle crash in Discovery Bay, St Ann.

It is reported that a Toyota Voxy was travelling towards Runaway Bay about 8:30 last night when it attempted to overtake a truck laden with sugar cane.

While overtaking, the Toyota collided with a Honda Civic motor car travelling in the opposite direction.

Four persons were rushed to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where a man and a woman were pronounced dead.

Two females remain hospitalised in serious condition.

This brings to 12 the number of persons killed in motor vehicle crashes in St Ann since the start of the year.

Two-year-old Omelia Riley died Tuesday when the vehicle her father was driving crashed on the AGR Byfield Highway in St Ann's Bay.
