The hearing of an application by West Hanover Member of Parliament Ian Hayles challenging a controversial report by the Contractor General has been adjourned until July 24.

Hayles lawyers began making submissions in chambers at the Supreme Court yesterday.

Hayles is questioning the methods used by the Office of the Contractor General to gather material used to compile the report.

He has received an injunction barring the tabling of the document in Parliament until the case is heard in court.

The report raises questions of irregularity and impropriety in relation to the construction of buildings by Hayles and his wife Charlotte.

According to the contractor general, construction works were undertaken without approval from the Hanover Parish Council.
