Parliament's Constituency Development (CDF) Committee meeting was this morning abandoned due to the absence of a quorum.

The heavy rains which have been lashing the island since last weekend are believed to have prevented several committee members from turning up.

At 9:27 this morning, committee chairman Everald Warmington declared the meeting aborted as only Members of Parliament Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn (St Andrew West Rural)  and Denise Daley (St Catherine Eastern) were present, as well as the committee clerk and representatives of the CDF secretariat.

The committee meeting was cancelled until May 30 as next Tuesday will be observed as Labour Day.

The Infrastructure and Physical Development Committee meeting, which should have followed the CDF, was also cancelled.

This afternoon's sitting of the House of Representatives has also been cancelled.
