August trial date set for five alleged St Thomas farm thieves

An August 16 trial date has been set for five St Thomas men on praedial larceny charges.

The accused Richard Downer, Marvin Buckner, Fitzroy Delaney, Nelson Thomas and Dexeane Dwyer pleaded not guilty when they appeared in court on Wednesday.

They were remanded until the trial.

The five are charged with being in possession of agricultural produce without a valid receipt.

They were held by the St Thomas Police Anti Praedial Larceny  Prevention Team during an operation late last month.
