The police have arrested and charged three people, including a woman, for allegedly assaulting one of their colleagues in Half-Way Tree yesterday.

Taxi operators, 30-year-old Domain Richardson, otherwise called ‘Chin’, and 27-year-old George Malcolm, otherwise called ‘Junior’, were charged with Assaulting Police, Abusive and Calumnious Language, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

Meanwhile, 35-year-old Shani Fairclough of Kingswood Avenue, Kingston 10 was charged with Abusive and Calumnious Language, Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing the Police.

The police say about 5:15 in the afternoon, a team conducting Public Order Duties along Eastwood Park Road, was in the process of seizing a motorcar that was being operated contrary to the terms of its road licence when one of the cops was attacked.

The police say he was collared, shoved and hit several times by Richardson who also issued threats.

The police say Fairclough and Malcolm were a part of a group which became boisterous and aggressive in preventing the Police from performing their duties.

The three are to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on June 8.

The Police High Command is reminding members of the public that when approached by the Police to peacefully surrender, cooperate and obey their instructions.
