Police up value of cocaine seized at Gordon Cay to $90 million
The police have revised upwards the value of the drugs seized at Gordon Cay at the Kingston Container Terminal on Wednesday to $90 million.
The initial value of the 141 pounds of cocaine seized on two separate shipments from Guyana and Suriname was estimated at $77 million.
But a release from the police's Corporate Communication Unit this afternoon increased the estimated value to $90 million.
Reports from the police are that about 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, four containers shipped from Guyana and Suriname were searched and found to contain 56 parcels of cocaine weighing approximately 64 kilograms.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
