The Meteorological Service says sections of the island are to experience increased rainfall over the next three days, starting today.

The Met Office says a Trough is expected to linger in the vicinity of the island through to Sunday.

As a result, it says atmospheric conditions are expected to become less stable and deteriorating weather conditions are expected across sections of the island starting this morning.

Current projections are for periods of light to moderate showers, which could be heavy at times, and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes today through to Sunday evening.

In addition, windy conditions are expected across the island starting on Saturday.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as gusty winds and rough seas are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

The Met Office says it will continue to monitor the situation.
