A street in Milk River, Clarendon flooded by the recent rains.

Communication Manager at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw, says teams continue to work to clear roads blocked as a result of the flood rains.

Shaw says floodwaters and landslides have impacted some areas in Trelawny, Manchester and St Thomas.

He says the teams cleared blocked roadways in those and other parishes over the weekend.

He says the majority of the issues were concentrated in St Thomas, Clarendon, Manchester, and Portland which saw landslides and downed trees.

Shaw says the agency continues to monitor the situation.

Meanwhile, the NWA's Communication Manager says the agency is aiming to begin its usual flood mitigation activities for the hurricane season before the end of the month.

He says special attention will be given to areas impacted by the recent rains.
