15-year-old held with illegal gun in downtown Kingston

A 15-year-old boy is now in custody after he was reportedly held with an illegal firearm in downtown Kingston yesterday.
According to the Constabulary Communications Unit about 2:13 p.m. yesterday police were on mobile patrol in the downtown Kingston area when the boy was seen in Rosemary Lane.
He was searched and a 9mm Browning pistol and a magazine containing ten 9mm cartridges weapon found in a knapsack he was carrying.
He was taken into custody and charged. The 15-year-old is to appear before the St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, July 25.
