Purchase a bus for nurses working in crime prone areas – Dalley
Opposition Spokesman on Health, Horace Dalley, is calling for the Government to purchase a bus that will be used to transport nurses working in crime prone areas.
Dalley says with crime in some of these areas at crisis levels leaving nurses at the mercy of public transportation, especially at nights, is a serious concern.
The Opposition Spokesman points out that the 2015-17 Wage Agreement signed by nurses under the previous administration includes the purchase of a Coaster Bus.
Dalley says it has always been the convention of all succeeding Administrations to honour Wage Agreements signed by previous Administration and therefore the Ministry of Finance and must move to buy the bus.
He argues that nurses ought to be given similar consideration as other civil servants who are provided with a transport system by the government.
