Cops charged in kidnapping of Trelawny couple granted bail

Two policemen who allegedly kidnapped a Trelawny man and then his spouse have each been granted bail in the sum of $600,000.
Corporal Roger Davis and Constable Ricardo Foster were offered bail in the Trelawny Parish Court on Tuesday.
Last Friday, they were charged with kidnapping and breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act by the Major Organised Crime and Anti Corruption Agency (MOCA).
The cops are to return to court on Thursday, September 7.
The police say on Wednesday, July 12, Davis and Foster posed as policemen from MOCA and stopped a motor vehicle being driven by the complainant.
The police say the cops forcibly took him from the vehicle and solicited $2t million.
He agreed to pay the cops.
The police say the cops then took the man to his house to collected the money and while there, he managed to escape.
The policemen then reportedly took the complainant’s spouse from the house and brought her to Falmouth.
The police say the cops made a demand and when it was not met they released the woman along a road.
A report was subsequently made to MOCA resulting in the arrest and charge of Corporal Davis and Constable Foster.
