JAS gets all clear to host Denbigh show
The Jamaica Agricultural Society has been given the all clear to host the annual Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show in Clarendon this year.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr Winston De La Haye, says health teams have conducted their final assessment and are now satisfied that the organisers have fixed the health concerns at the showground.
As a result, De La Daye says approval has now been granted to host the show.
This year’s staging of Denbigh was in doubt after the Clarendon Health Department indicated that it would not sanction the event because of public health breaches.
The breaches included persons preparing meals without a food handler's permit, exposure of foods to contaminants, non-functioning toilet facilities, and indiscriminate disposal of solid waste.
