Traffic changes in effect for Mona Road
The National Works Agency (NWA) has implemented traffic changes along Mona Road in St Andrew.
The NWA says the Mona and Wellington Drive intersection has been reduced to single lane traffic.
The change took effect on Saturday and will remain until the end of September.
The agency says the change is to facilitate the laying of sewer pipes by the National Water Commission and forms part of activities associated with the Mona Road Rehabilitation Project.
Motorists travelling towards Mona Road from Wellington Drive may travel via Ottawa Avenue and then on to Mona Road.
The NWA says the roadway is being rehabilitated at a cost of approximately $76 million under the Major Infrastructure Development Programme.
The project involves extensive drainage improvement, the installation of sidewalks, the creation of an exclusive turning lane from Mona Road unto Aralia Avenue, and asphaltic concrete overlay of the affected sections of the corridor.
Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
