Two teenagers among five held as cops seize two illegal guns

Two teens are among five persons now in police custody following the seizure of two firearms seized in separate incidents on Monday.

According to the police the first incident unfolded about midday in Barclay, St Mary. 

The police say during an operation premises were searched and a home-made firearm found. Two teenagers and three men were arrested in connection with the seizure. They remain in custody as the investigation progresses. Their identities are being withheld at this time.

Then about 6 p.m., the police in Spanish Town, St Catherine were conducting an operation in New Nursery in the parish when they searched an abandoned building and found a Smith and Wesson 9mm Pistol and two magazines – one of them containing two 9mm rounds of ammunition and the other a Glock extended magazine. 

No one was arrested. Detectives continue to probe the case.
