Inmate to serve 18 months for running fraud scheme from prison

Prison inmate, Andrew Lee Pryce, has been sentenced to a total of nine years in prison arising from a fraud scheme he led from behind bars.
Pryce was sentenced to 18 months on each of the six counts of obtaining money by false pretence when he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
The sentences are to run concurrently, which means he will only serve 18 months in prison for the breaches.
Pryce, who is currently serving a sentence for similar offences, pleaded guilty in January after being charged by MOCA detectives for breaches of the Forgery Act.
The charges resulted from an ongoing investigation which led to the arrest and charge of Correctional Officer, Toraine Tulloch, in December 2016 for his involvement in a fraud scheme being operated from inside the correctional facility.
It is alleged that Pryce, who is believed to be the mastermind, conspired with the Correctional Officer who then posed as a policeman and entertainment producer and fleeced several persons of large sums of money.
