Recaptured escapees sentenced to six months in prison
The three men who recently escaped from the Ocho Rios Police Lock-Up in St Ann have each been sentenced to six months in prison.
Gary Ferguson, David Anderson, and Leroy Laud pleaded guilty to escaping custody when they appeared before the St Ann Parish Court yesterday.
The men pleaded not guilty to the charge of malicious destruction of property.
They were remanded pending the setting of a trial date in relation to that charge.
The three were among five men who escaped from the lock up on Friday, August 11.
At large are 21-year-old Nicholas Massop and 26-year-old Renardo Williams.
The police say Massop is wanted for murder, shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm and is believed to frequent Boscobel, St Mary and Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Meanwhile, Renardo Williams, otherwise called ‘Tanty’, is wanted for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and is said to frequent the Ocho Rios area.
The police are urging the men to turn themselves in and are reminding family members and residents that it is an offence to harbour a criminal.
