Hotline number created for Zones of Special Operations

There is an appeal this evening for members of the public and persons residing in areas declared a Zones of Special Operations to utilise the special hotline number that has been created.

That number is 1-888-225-ZOSO or 1-888-225-9676.

The Zones of Special Operations (ZOSO) Communications Centre says the 24-hour hotline was established to safeguard citizen’s rights at all times and ensure that their complaints are addressed immediately.

It says the hotline is the only official channel created to ensure that members of the security forces who are part of the zone of special operations carryout their duties in accordance with the law.

The hotline will also be used to facilitate and register citizen’s complaints about the actions of the security forces within the zones as well as to provide explanation to citizens about their rights and responsibilities within the zone.
