Gas prices to go up by $3.41 Thursday as Harvey impacts oil refineries

The state-run oil refinery Petrojam has announced that gasoline prices will go up by $3.41 per litre as of Thursday.

A litre of E10 87 will be sold for $120.40 per litre while a litre of E10 90 will be sold for $123.23.

Petrojam says the prices are reflective of changes in the US Gulf Coast Region as Hurricane Harvey has affected refineries in the gulf region.

But Petrojam says it anticipates that as normalcy returns to the refining region, prices will normalise over the next few weeks.

The state agency also says petroleum prices were impacted by movements in the foreign exchange rate over the past week.
