The police in Clarendon have seized the licensed firearm of a man following a fatal shooting in the parish.

The police say the weapon is to undergo ballistic testing.

The body of 24-year-old Bonito Anderson was discovered by residents yesterday afternoon on a playfield in New Longville in the parish.

Residents informed the police that they heard loud explosions and upon investigating Anderson's body was found with gunshot wounds to the head.

He was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

That same day the licensed firearm holder later turned up at the May Pen police station and reported that Anderson attacked him by throwing stones at him.

He reportedly told the police that he fired two warning shots in the air and Anderson ran.

However, he said Anderson confronted him again by hurling more stones and he fired a shot in his direction and saw him fall to the ground.
