The National Meteorological Service is forecasting heavy rains across sections of most parishes until Monday.

The Met Service says this is due to an induced Trough across Jamaica, which is associated with Hurricane Irma.

It says a small craft warning is in effect for offshore areas of the north coast due to strong winds and rough seas in the vicinity of thunderstorms.

According to the Met Service, the Trough is expected to remain in the vicinity of Jamaica for the remainder of the weekend.

Expect cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms to affect sections of the island through to Monday.
