Road closure planned for sections of Mona Road come Monday

The National Works Agency (NWA) says starting on Monday, the section of Mona Road that runs between Wellington Road and Ottawa Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic for one week.
The closure is to facilitate road formation and base work as part of the drainage improvement and road rehabilitation project that has been underway since April.
The NWA says the work to be undertaken include the construction of a concrete box culvert, the strengthening of the road base, as well as the construction of turning lanes and sidewalks.
It says during the closure, motorists will be asked to use Ottawa Avenue and Wellington Road to access their destinations.
And the agency says persons whose destination is within the closed section will be accommodated as necessary.
The roadway is expected to reopen next Sunday.
