Illegal Taurus pistol, ammo seized in Flanker; two arrested

An illegal Taurus 9 millimetre pistol with a magazine containing eleven 9 millimetre rounds was seized and two men taken into custody in Flanker, St James, yesterday. 

The Coral Gardens Police report that about 1:20 in the afternoon a patrolling team accosted two men who aroused their suspicions and searched them.

The loaded pistol was found in a knapsack that one of the men was carrying.

Both men were subsequently arrested.

The police say their identities are being withheld as investigations continue.
