It was a rare moment without tension during hours of angry protests in St Thomas this morning when a police corporal was accidentally pepper-sprayed by her colleague in Grants Pen.

The corporal was among a team of police personnel accosting a resident, who according to them, had thrown a stone hitting a private vehicle during their demonstration.

The man resisted and so the cops were using pepper spray to subdue him when it caught the woman corporal, much to the amusement of the protesting residents.

‎St Thomas residents have been protesting for several days over the poor state of their roads.

This morning, additional police support had to be called in from the Mobile Reserve headquarters ‎to try to restore calm.
