Ganja valuing $11m seized in Gregory Park

Ganja worth an estimated $11.1 million was seized and three men arrested by the Narcotics police in Gregory Park, St Catherine yesterday.

The police say 2,220 pounds of ganja was seized following a search of a Toyota Noah minivan and a business place.

According to the police, they signalled the Toyota minivan to stop about 8 o'clock along Grange Lane but the vehicle sped away.

The police say they gave chase and intercepted the vehicle on the compound of business place in Gregory Park.

The vehicle was searched and 169 parcels of compressed ganja weighing one thousand pounds were found.

A further search of the premises yielded 200 more parcels with ganja weighing 1,220 pounds of compressed ganja.

Three men were subsequently arrested.

They are now awaiting questioning in the presence of their attorneys.
