Dancehall figures beg for mercy at Ninja Man sentencing
Well-known entertainer Stacious today asked a High Court judge to show mercy to convicted dancehall artiste Ninjaman.
Stacious, whose given name is Stacy Scarlett Bryan, was giving character evidence during the sentencing hearing for Ninja Man, his son Janeil and co-convict Dennis Clayton in the Home Circuit Court today.
The three were convicted last month of killing Ricardo Johnson, popularly known as 'Ricky Trooper', in the St Andrew community of Lower Mall Road in 2007.
But Stacious, in her testimony, said the Ninja Man she knows is not the person who was convicted of murder.
She described the entertainer as a kind, caring person who still has a lot to give to the Jamaican society.
Another person from the entertainment industry, Karlene Smith, popularly known as the Dancehall Queen, also pleaded with Justice Martin Gayle to give Ninja Man a chance.
