Police-military operation underway in August Town, St Andrew

A joint police-military operation is now underway in August Town, St Andrew and surrounding communities in response to recent murders and shootings in the area.

Residents are being asked to comply with the instructions of the security forces.

The police heightened their presence in the area following separate shootings in the community last Friday that left two persons dead and another hospitalised.

At that time, the police reported that investigators theorise that the shootings stemmed from an ongoing gang feud in the area.
