Salada Foods Jamaica Limited, in partnership with Running Events Jamaica Limited, will launch Jamaica’s first road-race loyalty card, aptly titled ‘Rise Up and Run’.

The loyalty card, the first of this magnitude for Salada, is designed to encourage Jamaicans to rise up, run for the fun, and donate to the cause, as announced by Salada at the Everyone’s A Winner/Running Events 5K and 10K launch on Tuesday at the Jamaica Society for the Blind.

“At Salada, our mantra is simple; we rise up and support Jamaica. Each of these races is aligned with a cause geared towards alleviating challenges confronted by many Jamaicans,” said Tamii Brown, corporate and commercial affairs manager at Salada Foods Jamaica.

“More importantly, these races provide a no-hurdles entry for each Jamaican to give back to the betterment of our country. So to further bolster that spirit of charity, we developed this loyalty card to further give back to our road-racing nation builders,” Brown said.

Salada Foods Jamaica Limited will work closely with the Running Events organisers to provide full-service hot-beverage stations at select races on the 2019 Road Running Calendar.

According to Managing Director of Running Events Jamaica, Alfred ‘Frano’ Francis, it is through collaboration and shared vision that positive change occurs.

“Road races are growing in popularity in Jamaica, and we make sure that there is a sincerity of purpose in all races with which we become associated. However, we cannot do it alone; there are sponsors, participants, our team, volunteers, Government, entertainers, beneficiaries, media and a lot of other parties that make it all possible. So we are happy to have another visionary and partner step up for the cause,” Francis said.

“This partnership with Salada Foods will enrich the overall experience of our patrons and will encourage more patrons to come out in their numbers to support these worthy causes,” Francis added.

During the Everyone’s a Winner/Running Events 5K and 10K races on April 14 at the Hope Botanical Gardens, the Rise Up and Run loyalty cards will be made available at the Jamaica Mountain Peak hot-beverage station.

Registered patrons of select race events will be able to visit the Jamaica Mountain Peak beverage station, enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and/or tea, and receive one stamp on their Rise Up and Run card.

After only three stamps, plus provision of proof of purchase of one Jamaica Mountain Peak product at any outlet islandwide, each registered patron will be able to reap additional rewards. Patrons will receive a bag of goodies that contains the iconic Jamaica Mountain Peak yellow mug, a limited-edition T-shirt, coffee, tea, and full entry to the 2019 Reggae Marathon while stocks last.

The 2019 Road Running Calendar is available on the Running Events Jamaica website at www.runningeventsja.com.
