Emergency repairs disrupt water supplies to rural St Andrew

Published:Saturday | March 16, 2019 | 12:00 AM

Water supply to several communities in rural St Andrew has been disrupted because of emergency repair work, the National Water Commission (NWC) has revealed.

The NWC says emergency pump repairs have forced the shutdown of operations at the King Weston water supply facility in rural St Andrew.

The affected areas include Matthew Road, Toms River, Cokely, Johnny Ridge, sections of Bucky Plain, Belmont, Grant Hill, Florence Hill, Lawrence Tavern and Mount Ogle.

The utility company says it expects to restore regular service by late Monday.

In the interim, the NWC says water will be trucked to affected areas.
