#EastPortlandBattle | Some delays, but smooth voting - CAFFE

Chairman of the election observer group Citizens Action For Free and Fair Elections, Dr Lloyd Barnett, says voting has been smooth in the Portland Eastern by-election.

Barnett said that except for minor delays, voting activities have been incident free.

According to him, the delays were caused by electors turning up without their voter identification cards which slowed the process.

But, he said that this did not stop them from casting their ballots.

The by-election was called following the murder of the Member of Parliament Dr Lynvale Bloomfield in February.

Today’s face-off is between the People’s National Party Damion Crawford and the Jamaica Labour Party’s Ann-Marie Vaz.
